A lot of photographers say that you should schedule your maternity session at a certain week in your pregnancy but I think the most important thing is that the session take place when you have a nice full, round belly but are still comfortable. Every pregnancy is different! Some don’t have a large baby belly until super late in pregnancy, some have it early on. I would recommend booking your session 1-2 months in advance and then we can go from there depending on how you are progressing and feeling. We want to be able to show that you are definitely pregnant but not so close to your due date that you are uncomfortable. To book your maternity session, click the ‘book a session’ button and I will get in touch with you to discuss all of the details. Session fee must be paid in full to reserve your spot on my calendar. (Please note that this this is the session fee only. All prints, products and digital images are sold separately)
***Maternity sessions are only available with a booked newborn session.
Where the Session Will Take Place
During the spring/summer/fall months, I love outdoor sessions! If you have a location you would like to go to, I’m game! If not, I can recommend several places depending on the style of shoot you are looking for. If you’d rather have a studio session, (or if outdoor weather isn’t permitting) we can do that as well.
What to Wear
You are welcome to choose any outfits you like but if you’re just not sure, I am here to help! I can help guide you on what photographs well and what will show off your bump nicely. I recommend 2-3 different outfits. Most importantly, choose something that makes you feel pretty! I own several maternity photography gowns (maternity gallery) that you are welcome to wear also. We will further discuss clothing options and what to bring at your phone consultation. You are also welcome to bring anything else you might like photographed as well…sonogram photos, baby’s name, baby shoes, etc. Daddy and siblings are welcome too! Be sure to visit the maternity gallery page to see more of my work and get an idea of the type of images you feel drawn to for your own session!
